Undergraduate Comprehensive Exam

    1. Honors in the Major

NOTE: CS has introduced a new and more effective alternative for the Capstone exit requirement.

Methods for meeting the exit requirements are now:

  1. Pass one of the following capstone courses:
    • CMPS 116 (Software Design Project)
    • CMPS 140 (Artificial Intelligence)
    • CMPS 161 (Visualization and Computer Animation)
    • CMPS 181 (Database Systems II)
    • CMPS 183 (Hypertext and the Web)
  2. Do a senior thesis.
  3. Get a scaled score of 600 or better on the CS GRE. The test dates for this academic year are available on the GRE web site.

Honors in the Major

  • Students who obtain a GPA of 3.8 or higher in the major courses will receive the distinction of "Highest Honors in the Major".
  • Students who obtain a GPA of 3.5 or higher in the major courses will receive the distinction of "Honors in the Major".
